Diamond K Ranch adds to Expo’s success

Each year for the past decade, Diamond K Ranch has brought four 3-year-old fillies, that are only halter broke, to the Saskatchewan Equine Expo in Saskatoon. These four fillies are selected as weanlings based on criteria such as disposition, gentle personalities and their previous siblings’ performances. They are then left untouched to grow up until they leave for the Equine Expo, where they are chosen by the trainers who take part in the NAERC Trainers Challenge.

In this fan-favourite competition, each horse and trainer displays their own uniqueness inside the ring. It’s a joy to see what traits the fillies bring out in each trainer, as well as what attributes the trainers bring out in each filly. While the match isn’t always perfect, both leave the Expo having taught the other something of great value. Diamond K Ranch brings a consistent group of horses each year, bringing greater value to the expo.

Diamond K Ranch is a family-owned and operated PMU ranch located in southeast Saskatchewan. They have over 50 years of breeding and training under their belts and can help pick out a prospect animal based on a simple conversation. Their focus is on raising top quality prospects for every person and discipline. Versatility is something Diamond K Ranch prides itself in and works hard to achieve. They sell around 80 AQHA/APHA weanlings in their annual fall production sale in Candiac, Saskatchewan. If you’re in the market this September, they invite you to book a tour to pick out your next prospect!
